Day 1: Arrival in Agra From Tamil Nadu

Start with a one-night trip, taking a train or a flight to Agra in Tamil Nadu. When you move out of the southern scenery, you can relax on the trip and get ready to explore Mughal history, magnificent architecture and other cultural aspects of the city of the Taj in an exciting manner.

Day 2: Agra Local Sightseeing

Check in to your hotel in Agra in the morning. Once you have freshened up, begin your day with a visit to the Taj Mahal, which is one of the seven wonders of the world. Look at the white marble monument in the morning and stroll in its green gardens and ponds and the reflection of the sky and arched buildings. Then visit Agra Fort and visit the Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Sheesh Mahal, and the courtyards which depict the history of Mughal rulers. Lunch in a nearby restaurant, which offers Mughlai cuisine, and a visit to a busy bazaar at Sadar, which is a good place to get marble souvenirs, leather goods and local sweets. Back to the hotel to have dinner and stay over.

Day 3: Arrival in Fatehpur Sikri

Have a break after breakfast, then depart on a one-day excursion to Fatehpur Sikri, which is the red sandstone capital of Emperor Akbar. Explore Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal, Jama Masjid and the Tomb of Salim Chishti to discover how this city that was once a great city is now silent but magnificent. Go back to Agra and have lunch at the hotel and get some rest. During the evening, go to the Mehtab Bagh, which is across the Yamuna River, to see the Taj Mahal in a spectacular evening sunset and have a wonderful vantage view of the same. Take time to relax in the serene environment, then proceed to dinner, and then spend the night at the hotel.

Day 4: Explore Bharatpur

Have breakfast and then have a field trip to Bharatpur, a little over an hour away. Visit the Keoladeo National Park, which is also a world heritage site and is home to migratory birds and wetlands and plants. You can ride a rickshaw around the park and visit painted storks, cranes, and so many more. Eat a picnic lunch or visit a restaurant in the area. Late in the evening, drive back to Agra and spend the night.

Day 5: Offbeat Exploration of Agra

Following breakfast, visit other non-famous treasures of Agra like the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah commonly known as the Baby Taj due to its elaborate inlay work in marble. Next visit the Sikandra to view Akbar Tomb which is a combination of Islamic, Hindu and Persian architecture. Shop in the evening at the local markets buying handicrafts, rugs, and artifacts or simply spend time in a cafe with a view over the city. Eat supper and get ready to leave.

Day 6: Departure

Wake up early in the morning and then leave for airport to Tamil Nadu as your trip comes to an end.
