Day 1: Coonoor to Coimbatore—Flight to Chandigarh—Transfer to Shimla (115 km)

Travel starts at Coonoor and ends at Coimbatore Airport. On arrival in Chandigarh by air, drive to Shimla. Savor a pleasant climate, walk the Mall Road, and have serene scenes at the Ridge.

Day 2: Shimla Local and Scenic Viewpoints.

Discover the most peaceful places of Shimla and Jakhoo Temple and the colonial Viceregal Lodge. Take a stroll on the twisting paths of the Ridge and finish that day with a quiet sunset view of the hills.

Day 3: Shimla to Chail (45 km)

Go to Chail with its pristine woods and peaceful atmosphere. Explore Chail Palace, which has a popular cricket ground, and enjoy relaxing walks around the forest that presents the beauty of the lower Himalayas.

Day 4: Chail to Kasauli (70 km)

An easy drive would take you to Kasauli, a tiny cantonment town, which is calm and full of pine fragrances. Light sightseeing at Monkey Point and Gilbert trail and Kasauli breweries.

Day 5: Kasauli to Manali (250 km)

Day 8: Manali to Dharamshala (225 km)

Day 9: Dharamshala to McLeod Ganj (10 km local)—Continue to Pathankot (90 km)

Spend the morning at McLeodganj and see Bhagsu Waterfall, the Dalai Lama Temple Complex and cute markets. Thence later drive to Pathankot to depart.

Day 10 (Optional Extension): Add Dalhousie (120 km)

Assuming you go on 10 days, go on from Dharamshala to Dalhousie and devote a peaceful day to Khajjiar, the Mini Switzerland of India and then move on to Pathankot.
