Day 1: Arrival in Delhi → Transfer to Chandigarh (250 km).

Board the aeroplane at Coimbatore to Delhi Airport, and then travel to Chandigarh. The highway is even and runs through plains, thus giving you the perfect beginning of your Himachal trip. Upon arrival, have a pleasant evening at Sukhna Lake or the Rock Garden.

Day 2: Chandigarh → Shimla (115 km)

You start climbing the road to Shimla and slowly pass through winding roads and greenery. There, go shopping at your leisure along the Ridge, Mall Road and Lakkar Bazaar. The colonial charm and cool climate provide a thrilling mountain welcome.

Day 3: Shimla → Mashobra (15 km) → Return to Shimla.

After breakfast, take a brief drive to Mashobra, an unstirred, cleaner substitute for overcrowded hill stations. Visit the Reserve Forest Sanctuary, walk through the woods and get back to Shimla in the evening. This short adventure adds serenity and unspoilt nature to your list of activities.

Day 4: Shimla → Manali (250 km)

Drive to Manali, with picturesque views of rivers, bridges and mountain scenery. Arrive at your hotel and have a rest. During the evening, explore Old Manali cafes or go on a walk along the river.

Day 5: Manali Sightseeing

Day 6: Manali → Naggar → Return to Manali (25 km each way)

Day 7: Manali → Dharamshala (235 km)

Head to Dharamshala, a culturally diverse hill station that is known to have Tibetan monasteries and a spiritual aura. Arrive at the Dalai Lama Temple, St John Church, and the local Tibetan market.

Day 8: Dharamshala → Dalhousie (120 km)

In the morning, drive to Dalhousie – a lovely colonial hill station with pine-clad hillsides. Arrive, and have a leisurely walk in Gandhi Chowk and Thandi Sadak.

Day 9: Dalhousie → Khajjiar → Dalhousie (20 km each way)

Go on a day out to Khajjiar, a beautiful meadow that is surrounded by thick forests. Spend time in the lakes, take quick walks and enjoy the peaceful environment and go back to Dalhousie.

Day 10: Dalhousie → Pathankot (85 km) → Delhi → Coimbatore.

Travel to Pathankot to catch your train or flight back to Delhi, and then continue on to Coimbatore.
